Taiwanese financial institution E. SUN Commercial Bank has used NEC’s facial recognition technology NeoFace to deploy biometric ATMs at five locations in Taiwan.

First-time users of the new service can insert the bank cards to have a reference face photo taken by the ATM camera. After the different steps of verification by the bank, users will be able to withdraw cash by facial recognition and PIN authentication.

Takashi Yoshida, general manager, Safer City Solutions Division, NEC Corporation says: “NEC focuses on the Social Solutions Business, and we will make use of this achievement to realize a safe and secure society. NEC will continue proposing innovative new solutions using biometric technologies, both in Taiwan and around the world.”
