USAA tests augmented reality car-buying app

San Antonio-based USAA is piloting a new augmented-reality app which allows members to point their phones at a car made this century and get various details like purchase price, cost of insurance and local dealer availability.

Teaming up with AR specialist Blippar, the app which allows members to quickly access USAA’s car buying service, local dealers and loan rates.

Heather Pollard, VP, USAA Auto Experience, says: “By testing this new augmented reality capability, we hope to transform and enhance our members’ experience by making it as easy as possible for them to access the information they want, when they want it.”
