Berlin-based mobile-only bank N26 is finally getting launched for business in the UK, nearly a year after the announcement of its international expansion.
Already quite popular in the Eurozone with more than 1.5 million customers, the mobile bank is expected to face tough competition from existing players such as Revolut, Monzo, Starling and many others.
Currently, the bank will be onboarding friends and family of current staff and later the 50,000 customers who have joined a waiting-list set up a year ago.
Alex Weber, head of international markets, says: “The UK is one of the most advanced markets for online banking, but with 85pc of users with big banks.”
