Aeon Financial Services and Fujitsu are teaming up to test palm vein biometric payments that will let shoppers pay for their groceries with their hands.
Using Fujitsu’s palm vein biometric authentic technology, Aeon’s credit card unit looks to pilot the new payment process in September at a number of Ministop convenience stores.
To avail the service, customers have to first register by adding their palm vein pattern to their Aeon card information. This data, along with their birthdate, will be used during checkout.
With Fujitsu’s technology, Aeon hopes to bring both high accuracy and contactless payment together.
