Cambodia launched the Cambodia Fintech Association (CDA), a national body designed for start-ups and banks to invest more in the nation.

The association based in the Cambodian capital’s Daun Penh district will have banks, digital payment companies and financial operators as its members.

“Fintech startups are slowly but surely starting to surface in Cambodia”, says CFA vice president Eddie Lee. He also added that plans are going on to register the CFA as part of the Asean Fintech Network.

Cambodia’s central bank is also looking into the possibilities of using blockchain technology to track interbank payments.
